Emirates increases frequency to Mauritius starting October 1

In addition to reintroducing double-daily flights, Emirates has announced plans to increase frequencies to Mauritius starting October 1, 2022. Additional evening frequencies will operate until 31st January, 2023, in response to increased travel demand to and from Mauritius. A third daily flight will increase seat capacity to and from Mauritius by approximately 35 percent, meeting the surge in demand and helping the tourism industry during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

Emirates increases frequency to Mauritius starting October 1The added frequency supplements the existing double-daily Airbus A380 services and will also provide customers with more flexibility when planning their trip to Mauritius with the option of arriving early in the morning at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in addition to the existing EK 0701 service that arrives mid-morning, and EK 0703 service that arrives early evening.

Travelers departing Mauritius will also have ample choice to connect safely and seamlessly to Dubai, and through Dubai onwards to Emirates’ global network of 130 destinations. All three daily flights offer code sharing with Air Mauritius to allow greater access and a seamless travel experience to and from the island nation.

Emirates renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) in May to promote the island destination across Emirates’ global network. Post-pandemic, Mauritius continues to experience consistent growth as a popular leisure destination.

In addition to carrying more passengers, Emirates’ third-daily flight between Dubai and Mauritius will provide businesses with cargo capacity of around 30-40 tonnes, further opening global trade lanes. Since September 2002, Emirates has operated three weekly flights to Mauritius, and it is currently in its 20th year of service.
