Additionally, seasonally adjusted figures show a 0.4% drop from May. The Industry Production Value Index was recorded at 112.4, slightly below May’s 112.9. This June figure follows a revised 7.6% yearly rise in May, indicating a noticeable shift from the previous month’s robust annual growth.

Manufacturing output fell 1.0% when compared to June 2025 and declined 0.4% from May. Mining and quarrying experienced a sharper downturn, decreasing 13.8% year on year. Their output also diminished by 3.3% from May. Despite the decline in June, industrial activity remained higher during the second quarter. The average output from April through June was up 4.0% compared to the same period in 2025. Broad private-sector output demonstrates annual expansion
The services sector experienced a 0.2% decline from May but remained 3.0% above June 2025 levels. Construction activity rose by 2.0% in the month and increased 7.6% from the same month last year. The services index stood at 111.9, down slightly from 112.1 in May. Construction increased to 94.9 from 93.0. Services make up 67.2% of the broader production measure, whereas construction accounts for 8.4%.
Additional data from Statistics Sweden highlighted a significant rise in new industrial orders during June. Total orders expanded 32.3% from May after seasonal adjustment. Compared on a calendar basis, orders were 29.9% higher than in June 2025. Export orders surged 56.5% from May and 57.6% from the same month last year. Domestic orders remained relatively unchanged month-on-month but fell 7.4% annually.
Transport equipment drives export order gains with notable growth
Transport equipment showed the most substantial increase among key industrial order categories. Orders in this sector jumped 101.0% from May and 118.2% from June 2025. Manufacturing orders grew 33.2% on a monthly basis and 31.2% year over year. Capital-goods orders rose 45.5% from May and 50.7% annually. In contrast, mining and quarrying orders decreased by 1.8% from the previous month and 19.0% compared to June 2025.
Looking at the first half of 2026, total industrial orders were 4.0% above the same period in 2025. Export orders specifically grew 6.6% during that span. The indicators for production and orders reflect different aspects of industrial activity: the Production Value Index monitors output changes at constant prices, while the orders series measures new demand from domestic and international clients.
